A confidential online space for school staff to work through difficult experiences.
My name is Marina Broadley and I am a professional counsellor based in Leicestershire. I provide school-funded counselling to teachers and school staff.
Life brings many challenges, and it is understandable that at times we might look for support in facing them.
We know that school staff work incredibly hard to meet the needs of their students. Just as students need looking after, teachers do too. How important it is therefore for schools to fully support staff wellbeing.
However supportive your school is, sometimes professional outside help is needed.
I provide private online counselling to your staff wherever they are located. The sessions are charged at £65 and are funded by the school.
The beauty about the service is that you are not tied into an annual contract. You only pay for what you use. And, you deal with me directly, which makes things nice and straightforward.
The service provides reassurance and peace of mind for all.
I’m Marina Broadley and I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I qualified from the University of Leicester with a distinction in Contemporary Psychodynamic Counselling in 2006.
In addition, I am an Accredited Counsellor with The National Counselling Society.
My professional counselling career began in 2006. I was in my 40’s.
For the last 16 years I have helped people through emotionally painful times. I worked as a school student counsellor for many years and I’ve also had first hand experience of the unique pressures faced by teaching & school staff.
I am committed to promote staff welfare and help to make a positive difference to the lives of teachers, support and admin staff.
You can use the Staff Counselling Service as and when needed.
I offer up to 12 sessions for each individual. You decide what number you are comfortable with. It may be 3 or 4 sessions, which can be very effective.
As a guideline most schools offer their staff 6 sessions of counselling. This is not fixed and can be reviewed, if appropriate.
So, for example, if you have agreed 6 sessions and it becomes clear that 4 sessions is sufficient for an individual, we can then bring the counselling to an end.
Working together to support your staff’s wellbeing is easy. I have a simple referral system.
I do not require any information about the member of staff. I only need their name and contact information.
Privacy and confidentiality is crucial in counselling. I have firm boundaries
and take my professional responsibilities seriously.
The only information shared with the person administering the Staff Counselling Service is for invoicing purposes - in other words, the date of each booked session and whether it was attended or not.
Nothing more.
School staff seek counselling for a wide range of issues. Here are a few of the more common difficulties that can be supported through counselling:
Burnout and emotional exhaustion
Feelings of stress or anxiety
Panic attacks
Relationship problems
Grief, loss or bereavement
Problems with addiction
Trauma
Depression
Problems with confidence or self-esteem
Anger management
Issues relating to sexuality
Difficulties at work
Problems with family or school life
I work from my private office located in Leicestershire. As I work online I can provide therapeutic counselling to teachers and school staff UK wide.
The one hour counselling sessions are by FaceTime or WhatsApp video call - a safe and secure way to meet.
Occasionally, I am required to provide counselling face to face. Should this be the case, and assuming there is a suitable room at the school, I am happy to discuss. An additional charge will apply.
Counselling sessions for school staff are charged at £65.00 per session. Invoices are emailed to the person designated by the school and they are issued after the final session.
As regards to availability I try to be as flexible as possible. I understand that due to the nature of school life session times may change from week to week.
With this in mind I offer day and evening session times, to fit with your employee’s busy schedules.
Please get in touch to register your interest. I can then send you a copy of the two Counselling Agreements:
